EVERYTHING IS GOOD HERE

Gallery Tom Christoffersen presents Allan Otte´s first solo show: EVERYTHING IS GOOD HERE.

In Allan Otte´s perspective Farmhouses seem cool – not because the subject is curious in a city gallery but because Otte´s paintings show a hardened industrialised farming in an unsentimental way.

Using rather cold colours and an accurate painting technique Otte reproduces the decay of minor holdings, the mass production of pork slaughterhouses and a countryside organised by rows of silos, windmills and stacked pallets.

These human deserted but human influenced culturescapes carry an austere atmosphere and distance which recall the Düsseldorfershule´s photographs of the contemporary urban life conditions.
However, Allan Otte´s technique is not as influenced by photography as by the various possibilities for image editing offered by digital media. Exactly this detailed visual expression in combination with the cool lack of nostalgia seems to actually capture the ‘rural hometown’ anno 2006.
