Claus Carstensen and Nils Erik Gjerdevik have chosen to challenge one another and themselves by collaborating on seven paintings and six drawings.
The process has lasted a year and the result is presented at Gallery Tom Christoffersen.

Both Carstensen and Gjerdevik are strong identities on both the international and the Danish art scenes. At the same time the artists have very different expressions in terms of colour, line and attitude. The joint paintings therefore raise questions of transgression, the artist’s signature and of negotiating the artistic production, the personalised visual codes and maybe subjectivity. The project also challenges the art institution and the audience as our reception of Claus Carstensen and Nils Erik Gjerdevik is widened.

In this art project the process is just as important as the artworks. Therefore, Claus Carstensen and Nils Erik Gjerdevik will give an informal Artist Talk on June 15 at 4.30 pm. The talk will be in Danish.
