(Tales from the Uncertain)

Seven female artists exhibit their ”Tales from the Uncertain” at Gallery Tom Christoffersen.
It seems pushy and at the same time fragile but the works do relate to a personal and often emotionally charged sphere.

The uncertain tales are told through very different paintings and drawings because the artists work in continuation of their particular visual universes. Whether the themes reflected on are psychological, political, mythical, autobiographical or social they are displaced to imaginative fictions which are marked by an ambiguity and uncanny atmosphere.

In the explorative work on the border between reality and the unreal, the art works involves recognisable elements from the fairytale, the landscape, children drawings, language and nature. The artists particular visual logics, which varies from elaborate detailing to hasty sketching, makes certain that the scenarios stays alien and that the tales begins and ends in the uncertain.

Lærke Lauta (1974), Julie Nord (1970), Kathrine Ærtebjerg (1969), Vibe Bredahl (1974) and Lise Blomberg Andersen (1971) have graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the Schools of Visual Arts, Copenhagen between 2000 and 2005. Mie Mørkeberg (1980) and Linda Bjørnskov (1973) are academystudents.
